All of us have different expectations when it comes to traveling, and it’s understandable that we have our own preferences. Having a peaceful stroll by the seaside and feeling the warm grains of sands in between your toes may not sound all that alluring to everyone, especially travelers who crave adrenaline. So we’ve identified seven of the most common travelling personalities and what they enjoy best. This also makes a great reference to rely on if you aren’t certain if the friend you’re traveling with is going to experience the same amount of joy as you!

The Nature Lover

If you find yourself admiring the sight of leaves dancing ceremoniously along with gentle gusts of wind, you’re definitely a nature lover. These types of travelers have the tendency of aching to be surrounded by fields of daffodils and inhaling deep breaths of fresh air in the most serene environments. But they’re not to be confused with tree-loving hippies despite sharing similar traits. Nature lovers are essentially all about peacefulness. They’re down-to-earth individuals who enjoy the beauty of the little things in life. So if you find yourself itching for a hike up a hill, or wanting to dive and witness the miraculous sights of coral reefs, or even trekking through the densest jungles, you’re most definitely a nature lover.

The Adventurer

These people are best described as adrenaline junkies. They’re the ones who have Facebook pages filled with pictures of them doing the most exciting activities. It’s not a rarity to find them skydiving or participating in anything that what ordinary folks would label as too extreme. Adventurers are all about the experience and having the first taste at new flavors. They want to explore the wonders of the world and all the emotions that they have to offer. Don’t be surprised if you find out that they’re greatest travelling aspiration is to reach the summit of Mount Everest, or leap off the edge of Niagara Falls. To the regular adventurer, fear is nothing more than the whiff of a challenge that’s waiting to be overcome.

The Art Enthusiast

Intellectuals tend to fall under this category. They’re highly appreciative of brilliant architecture and obsessive over paintings from the Renaissance. Art lovers are suave individuals who are all about the finer things in life. It’s not hidden secret that they have expensive tastes, but it’s all for the greater good of craving for nothing short of the best. Art lovers are essentially adventurers of the intangible and absolutely adore engaging in meaningful conversation. Their caliber of profundity and selection of vocabulary can some times leave you bewildered. Art lovers are incredibly curious and have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, which is exactly why they need to be surrounded by similar personalities who share the same appreciation for art, music, and literature.

Nothing beats spending an entire day at the beach to these fun-loving fellows. They’ll probably initiate the idea of exploring a nearby island as they inspect how fine its sand is by feeling their feet sink through it. Beach lovers want to swim through the bluest waters and return to their golden sands to just laze around and feel their skin radiate from the sun’s rays. They’re the simplest and most easy-going individuals that you’ll ever meet.

They’ll probably be begging their air stewardess friends to help them get the latest designer brands from Europe or France, since it’s so much cheaper in those regions. However, they’re not to be mistaken as superficial for their materialistic tendencies. They are in fact, a lot more financially conscious about their expenditures; which is exactly why they’re hunting for the most cost-effective alternatives.

Instead of scheduling yourself a direct flight, you’ll probably end up taking a self-developed route that involves several bus rides that stop at various villages along the way. If that’s so, you are an absolute unorthodox methodologist. You want to be far away from tourist areas and immerse yourself completely in someone else’s culture, hoping to bring home with you the most interesting stories possible rather than expensive souvenirs.
