Description
Pick up and transfer to discover the remote ancient Koh Ker temples, once known as Chok Gargyar. This was the Khmer capital under Jayavarman before the capital was moved to Angkor Wat in 944 A.D. Koh Ker is located in Srayong Cheung village, about 2 hours drive from Siem Reap. Explore the group of temples of Koh Ker such as Prasat Thom, Prasat Krahom and Prasat Bram.
Later, enjoy a picnic lunch in the grounds before heading to Beng Mealea temple where you will have the opportunity to explore the 11th-century ruins emerging from the tangled overgrowth of Cambodian jungle at Beng Mealea. Beng Mealea is not only an interactive temple, with crumbling stone blocks acting as stairs to the temple’s subterranean chambers, but it is also a fun temple to explore.
Enjoy your time in this nearly thousand-year-old temple that consists of handful of libraries and courtyards. Unlike other Angkor temples, Beng Mealea has not been fortified or rehabilitated meaning that getting in and around the temple is a hands-on activity.
Return to your hotel in Siem Reap after your tour.
