The Mekong Delta, rich in agricultural soil, is one of the nation's rice baskets. The surrounding area is comprised of low lying rice paddies, and rivers are lined with dense mangroves and palms. The tributaries of Mekong River provide a comprehensive network of canals and channels. Traveling by river is the best way to explore the region at a leisurely pace as it offers opportunities to experience the truly unique Mekong River lifestyle. Cruising on the roof of a boat as the sun sets over distant coconut trees is truly remarkable experience.

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City - My Tho - Can Tho

Your guide will meet you at the lobby of your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and will take you to My Tho. Here, visit Vinh Trang pagoda, known as  the most beautiful pagoda in the province. Then, take a boat triparound four beautiful islets: Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Tortoise. These evergreen islands in the Mekong River remain unknown to many people. Discover beautiful landscapes along the river and observe the typical Mekong delta rural life.

Stops on the way can be made upon request for particular visits or photos taking. Visit a traditional house at Quoi An village (made entiredly from coconut). See coconut collection set and how locals make handicrafts from trunk and shell.

Enjoy seasonal fruit(s) and listen to traditional music. Go on a horse cart on village path and stop at Ben Truc orchard where you can taste honey with tea or Mekong whisky. And then, take a rowing-boat on water palm creek. Take the boat to visit a coconut candy mill, a special product of Ben Tre province. Finally, enjoy a delicious lunch at local restaurant before returning home.

Day 2: Can Tho - Cai Rang floating market - Ho Chi Minh City

After breakfast, you will take a boat to Jin In and explore  the floating market at Cai Rang, one of the most exciting floating markets in the Mekong Delta. Following this, you will rendezvous with your vehicle for the drive to the town of My Tho, where you will visit  the Vinh Trang Pagoda and the Dong Tam snake farm  (optional) before your return to Ho Chi Minh City. Breakfast and lunch included.
