Description
The Romantic Road, or Romantissche Strasse is a route that winds south from the historic Würzburg to Fuessen and the nearby Neuschwanstein Castle. The two hundred over miles road passes through stretches of pillowry countrysides, cobblestoned villages, timbre-homes and the medieval towns of Bad Mergentheim, Rothenburg, Dinkelsbuehl, and Noerdlingen.
With this tour, you will get the opportunity to travel along the Romantic Road, while admiring the scenic route.
We will depart in the morning and travel along the Romantic Road, where our first top is the quaint, medieval town of Harburg. Here, we will visit the Harburg Castle, one of the oldest, largest and most well preserved castles in Southern Germany, completed in the late 11th century. Sitting high on hill and overlooks the town of Harburg, gain entry into the castle, which once provided a military stronghold during the time.
Next, we continue along the Romantic Road through Swabian Dinkelsbühl, upon which we arrive in Rothenburg, the most perfectly preserved medieval town in Europe. Here, you will have some time for sightseeing, lunch and shopping. Wander through the streets as you step back in time and enjoy the romantic atmosphere of this beautiful town.
Finally, we will return to Munich via the Hallertau, the largest hop-growing region in the world.
