Description
For a unique way to experience Sabah's rich culture heritage, pay a visit to Chanteek Borneo Gallery, Sabah's first miniature gallery, sitauted in Tamparuli, about 40 minutes drive from Kota Kinabalu city center.
Chanteek Borneo Gallery houses more than 250 traditional ethnic costumes of up to 50 ethnic groups in Sabah. This private-owned gallery features a collection of hand-sewn mini-costumes, replicating the actual costumes of the people of Sabah. With a collection of more than 40 ethnic groups, this would be a great and unique way to see the beautiful and colorful costumes of the past and present of Sabah's ethnic groups. By visiting the gallery you will get to see costumes that are rarely seen today, apart from during festivities such as the annual Harvest Festival in May.
Apart from that, you may try your hands on some batik coloring and enjoy the musical instrument demonstration, all at the gallery.
Get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get to know the people of Borneo, closer than ever!
